Frank H. Stoddard, founder of Stoddard Farms, served in the US Navy during WWII from March 1944 to the end of the war in 1946. During his military service, Frank went through basic training at Farragut, Idaho and then onto Radioman school at the University of Wisconsin. Within two weeks of being assigned to duty aboard the USS Stanly (DD-478) as a Radioman, Frank saw combat action in the battle of Okinawa. His ship was struck by kamikaze fighters but miraculously survived the battle. Frank left the service as a Radioman 3rd class.
